Aries
(March 21 – April 20) When it comes to laundry, like anything in life, you’re full throttle. As a high energy person, you often have a pre-set plan of how and when you’re going to things done, and nothing is going to get in your way. Although you don’t particularly like laundry (does anyone, though?), you tend to do it with tenacity. For you, it’s not just about the laundry, it’s about checking off that item on your list. Plus, if anyone interrupts the process, they better watch out! Those socks are balled up and coming at full speed.
Taurus
(April 21 – May 21) You are the peaceful sign. So, naturally, when it comes to laundry, you like things done right and with care. Nothing is more aggravating than loads that mix colors with whites or losing one of the socks in a pair. Before you even start a load, everything is sorted and organized. You have piles for dirty and clean clothes, of course, and your folding process is slow and methodical to avoid unnecessary chaos. You’re the type of person who values stability—even in laundry. The only downside to your process is that it takes a bit of effort for you to actually get started. You’d rather procrastinate. It’s that Taurus stubbornness.
Gemini
(May 22 – June 21) You’re the type of sign that takes every opportunity to be social. Laundry is, of course, no different. When it comes to this chore, you’re either doing loads with a friend at the laundromat, on the phone while sorting, or engaging your roommates or family in a group activity. This often comes complete with the delegation of different tasks—especially ones you don’t like. You love the conversation and stimulation of being around people. In fact, you almost always use laundry time for personal storytelling or sharing something crazy from your week. But if you aren’t careful then nothing gets done!
Cancer
(June 22 – July 22) As a Cancer, you are fiercely dedicated to the people around you, and laundry, to you, is a physical manifestation of that loyalty. You don’t necessarily see washing and folding as a chore so much as an act of service. You clean clothes because you care about your loved ones. The only problem is that you’re so focused on giving in this way, that sometimes you can feel unappreciated or overly protective of your loved ones and their things. Balance, for you, is important.
Leo
(July 23 – August 22) You are a proud lion. Your focus, even for something like laundry, is about being in charge and getting things done. For you, seeing the ‘big picture’ comes naturally. You know what needs to happen and expertly plan your chores so that you can indulge in what you actually enjoy. Although your ‘take-charge’ attitude can be a benefit in terms of forward action, your pride can sometimes get in the way of accepting praise or help. It’s okay to let others take part!
Virgo
(August 23 – September 22) You’re a classic ‘yes’ person. And although this can be a beautiful thing, you can often find yourself saying ‘yes’ to laundry over and over, rather than letting anyone else take the load. You tend to be introverted and soft-spoken and patience is your strong suit. Although this means you can be relied on, you have to be careful about overburdening yourself and being taken advantage of.
Libra
(September 23 – October 22) You crave balance and order. For you, having a clean home or living space is of the utmost importance. One of your biggest goals is to make others happy and create harmony. This means that you’re the first one to volunteer for any chore, but it doesn’t always go smoothly. What usually happens when you do laundry is that you’ll get distracted by something outside, or want to multitask while waiting for a load to be done and then you’ll completely forget. Others may see you as absent-minded from time to time, but your heart is always in the right place.
Scorpio
(October 23 – November 21) Of all the signs, you value your alone time the most. To you, laundry is almost like a ritual—a self-care practice where you take time to process what’s on your mind. As a water sign, you think and feel deeply, and this repetitive chore gives you the space to do that freely. You’ll do the laundry no problem, but that doesn’t always mean you’re thrilled about it. If you’re picking up the slack for someone else, you’ll probably hold a serious grudge against those who never step up in return.
Sagittarius
(November 22 – December 21) As a Sagittarius, you’re called to adventure. When you’re doing laundry, you’re probably daydreaming about the next place you’ll go, the next thing you’ll do, or how you can clean clothes on the road. You view laundry as a social chore, a time to gather and talk with friends or family. Whether there’s music blasting in the background, or gossiping and sipping wine while folding, you’re guaranteed to make this activity a full-blown hangout. You’re also easily distracted. In the company of others, you’ll drift off and sometimes forget the chore altogether.
Capricorn
(December 22 – January 20) You see everything as a ladder to climb. As a goal-oriented person, you’ll often create to-do lists and cross items off, just to feel satisfied at your progress. Laundry is a logical, accomplishable task and you focus your energy on getting it done because the feeling of finishing is valued. Where you’ll get stuck is when you feel like you’re spinning in circles. When the task list is endless, or the laundry keeps piling up just when you thought you were done, you could end up overwhelmed.
Aquarius
(January 21 – February 19) You’re the most generous of the signs, hands down. If you’re asked to do laundry, you’re often going to do it with a smile on your face because your focus is giving to others and building connections. For you, laundry isn’t just a chore, it’s a way to be a better friend or family member. However, your biggest problem is that in being selfless and prioritizing others, you actually don’t give yourself a break. If you keep doing for others without giving to yourself, you’ll end up becoming resentful if you’re not careful.
Pisces
(February 20 – March 20) As a water sign, you are the daydreamer. Laundry isn’t high on your priority list, per se, but when it’s something you have to do, you make the most of it by using the time to let your mind drift. You are often methodical in your approach, and your process definitely reflects your mood. If you are in high spirits, everything will be color-coordinated and neatly folded. But if you’re angry or annoyed, you’ll leave everything haphazard or, worse, you won’t even finish the job.
