Uses in Feng Shui
Here are a few of our favorite ways to work with emerald to improve the feng shui in your home.
Activate the Family Area
The Family/New Beginnings area of the feng shui bagua map, called Zhen in Chinese, is connected to the color green. It’s also related to the energy of springtime, like a new green leaf sprouting out of the soil after a long winter. You may want to work with this area if you seek to promote more harmony in your family or if you desire support in starting a new project. Adding a green stone like emerald to this part of your home is one way that you can begin to activate this area of your life. To find the family area of your home, stand in your front door facing in, and locate the middle third of the left side. As you’re adding an emerald here, set an intention for how you would like it to support you. You may want to spend a moment visualizing, repeating a mantra, or writing down your intention.
Activate the Relationships Area
There is another area of the feng shui bagua that is related to relationships, partnerships, and love, called Kun in Chinese. Emerald’s affinity for the heart chakra and its connection to the energy of unconditional love makes this stone a perfect addition to this part of your home. We would recommend placing emerald in the Relationships corner of your bedroom. To find this position, stand in the doorway to your bedroom facing in. The far left corner will be your Relationships area. As you place your emerald here, set an intention for how you would like it to support you, whether it’s inviting in a new partner, deepening an existing relationship, or increasing love and compassion for yourself.
Activate the Wealth Area
Emerald is also often used to attract abundance and good luck, making it the perfect stone to activate the Wealth corner of the feng shui bagua, called Xun in Chinese. This area is also connected to the wood element, which is represented by the color green. To find the Wealth area, stand in the main entrance to your home facing in, and locate the far left corner. Try adding an emerald to this corner of your home with the intention to increase your feelings of abundance and prosperity.
Invite Wood Energy
In feng shui, the color green is connected to the wood element. Wood is all about healing, kindness, and growth. In addition to its beautiful green color, emerald shares the wood element’s connection to compassion and healing, making it a wonderful stone to activate wood element energy. Try placing an emerald somewhere in your home to cultivate wood energy if you’d like to enhance these qualities in your life.
Wear Emerald
Most often, we think of feng shui as something that we apply to our homes, but you can also work with the same principles in how you dress and adorn yourself. If the energy of emerald resonates with you, you may want to wear it on your body. You will find many options for emerald jewelry, so take the time to find something that you really love. Set an intention for how you would like this emerald to support you as you move through the world.
