In fact, the name “carbonado” comes from the Portuguese word for “burnt.” It is often used to make cutting tools because of its toughness. Fancy diamonds come in a wide array of colors, including black. They are often used in fine jewelry, just like colorless diamonds. Fancy black diamonds can be naturally black, or treated to create a darker color.
